The Flint Barn

The recently converted Flint Barn at Chapel Farm dates from the early 1800s. The Barn has been refurbished during the last year to provide a comfortable two bedroom property.  The open plan downstairs living space provides a modern fully equipped kitchen; separate dining area and spacious sitting area with electric wood burning stove and full height windows with views over the farm towards Boxhill.   Double doors lead to a small private courtyard area with seating and barbecue.  There is a pianola piano, TV with DVD player, fully stocked games cupboard and a gramophone player with a selection of records to while away the rainy days.  There is free Wi-Fi although please be aware that due to our rural location the internet speed is not fast and mobile phone signal can be weak at times.

The first floor provides two double bedrooms.  The front room has a fully glazed wall overlooking the living area with views to Boxhill.   A King size sleigh bed and en-suite bathroom make this a romantic and luxurious place to sleep.  The rear bedroom has a south facing window with a King size bed and en-suite shower room.  Both bedrooms come complete with all linen and towels, bathrobes, hot water bottles, hair dryers and toiletries.

There is plenty of room for parking and undercover storage for bikes and walking boots.  A comprehensive welcome pack will be provided containing all basic provisions, including tea, coffee, milk, sugar, wine, bread, butter, home baked produce, fresh fruit and fresh flowers.  We are happy to take delivery and un-pack your grocery order ready for your arrival.  The well equipped kitchen comes with an electric hob, oven and microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer, and Dolce Gusto coffee machine.

If you would rather eat out, Dorking  has a large selection of restaurants or try one of our local country pubs renown for their excellent food.  The 16th century Running Horses in the neighboring village of Mickleham won Surrey dining Pub of the Year in 2013.  Or sit in the garden of the King William IV in Mickleham and watch the sun set over the Mole Valley while listening to Jazz and sampling fine local produce.  There is a very large choice of venues to eat all within a 5 minute drive from the Farm, such as The Running Horses and The King William IV. Or how about visiting the Village Greens Farm Shop at Denbies to pick up your local fresh produce. Visit their web site www.vgfarmshop.com for details of their services.

There are Pilates classes and Kripalu yoga classes regularly run in the Granary on the farm by qualified instructors which guests are welcome to attend. Just let us know your requirements and we will endeavour to do all we can to make your stay memorable, and please include special events such as anniversaries, birthdays and honeymoons!
